Home loan rates increase

Banks and other mortgage lenders have raised interest rates on their standard variable home loans by 0.22% more than the Reserve Bank’s cash rate has moved over the last year.

Standard variable rate home loans have risen by an average of 1.22 percentage points since July 2008, more than the RBA's four rate hikes that totalled one percentage point.
